UD Sicilia was born from a shared frustration: good things always happen elsewhere.

Sicily remains outside, on the margins. But this narrative is now outdated: Sicily today is a vibrant land, where things are different from what the collective imagination imagines.

This first edition of World Usability Day in Sicily is a further step towards building a community that recognizes design as a living, accessible, and shared practice.

Moor’s Heads
We chose to do it online to more easily bring together people from all over the region or who live outside but have a connection to Sicily (for example, they were born here or are thinking of coming to live here).

In doing this, we don’t want to portray Sicily as a periphery: we want to demonstrate that it has never been one.
