Session 3: 7:00 pm EST

Glenn Gibson

  • Speaker: Glenn Gibson
  • Title:  Presentations – Don’t Let Usability Slide Away!
  • Description: Why do so many presentations in the corporate world ignore (or violate) usability design principles? PowerPoint is one of the most widely used collaboration tools in the world, with around 500 million users, yet relatively few use this tool effectively. Too often presenters display text-laden slides, crammed with far too much information, that overwhelms, disengages, and confuses their audience. Corporate PowerPoint templates need to be re-imagined and re-designed. This session, delivered by a presentation coach, consultant, and author of the book Before the Mic, will seek to unite the worlds of usability and presentations, bust some PowerPoint myths and trigger ideas for how you can bring your usability mindset to influence presentation design in your organization.

Session 4: 8:00 pm EST

Catalina Manea

  • Speaker: Cătălina Manea
  • Title: Elevating design systems as collaboration systems
  • Description: Design systems have long been recognized for their ability to maintain consistency and drive innovation, but it’s time to delve deeper into how we can scale their impact through a collaborative lens. In this discussion, we’ll showcase how collaboration systems facilitate real-time teamwork and foster a culture of innovation, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of design systems.

Session 5: 9:00 pm EST

  • Speaker: Brandon Hicks
  • Title: Product Design & Accessibility: Making experiences that work for all

Even if we know we should make our products accessible, what does that really look like beyond color contrast? Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, this talk will teach you something new about accessibility and you’ll leave with the knowledge and skills you need to start designing more accessible products today. Join us as we discuss what it takes to make products that work for everyone.
