World Usability Day with UX Research and Strategy
Trust, Ethics and Integrity in Design
Join UXRS as we celebrate World Usability Day (WUD) 2021. The theme for this year’s event is trust, ethics, and integrity in design. As this is such an important topic, we will be having a panel discussion featuring industry professionals sharing feedback on how to address some of today’s biggest ethical challenges in UX.
This discussion will center on:
- What are the biggest ethical concerns that the UX field faces?
- How do we address ethical challenges in the workplace?
- What are industry best practices to avoid unethical practices?
After the panel, stick around for a couple rounds of Networking breakout rooms and meet others who have an interest in UX research, strategy and design.

Speakers
Andy Vitale is the Executive Vice President of Design at Rocket Mortgage, the nation’s #1 mortgage lender. His team of more than 100 designers is focused on transforming the mortgage lending experience for millions of people who want to buy or refinance a home, as well as professional partners across the lending and real estate spectrum.
Throughout his career, Andy has built, scaled and led world-class design teams that elevate the role of design as an organizational competence and a competitive advantage. His experience ranges from startups to Fortune 500 companies spanning the fintech, health, technology and eCommerce industries. Andy inspires and empowers teams to solve problems with a human-centered approach and create meaningful products and experiences that drive successful outcomes.
Trina Falbe has worked with UX for 20 years. She is dedicated to ethical design and currently works with innovation in the education space alongside building digital products as an entrepreneur. She’s written two books: White Hat UX (2017) and The Ethical Design Handbook (2020).
Morton Rand-Hendriksen is a Senior Staff Instructor at LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com), focusing on front-end web development and the intersection between humanity and the internet. He has worked as an online educator for the past 10 years and also occasionally teaches interaction design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Before going full-time at Lynda.com he ran a boutique web agency and worked as a technical producer for television. Morten’s educational background is in philosophy, and he has a deep interest in the ethics of technology and design.
