World Usability Day: Hampton Roads
Saturday, November 15th, 2014
111 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23510
What is World Usability Day?
World Usability Day (worldusabilityday.org) is a single day of events that brings together communities for our common objective: to ensure that the services and products important to life are easier to access and simpler to use. It is about making our world work better. This event is targeted at students, career changers, job seekers, recruiters, potential employers, and anyone who works or wants to work with UX professionals, including project managers, developers, marketers, and tech or design managers. The national WUD theme this year is Engagement.Technology, products and services are usable when they engage people. At work we strive to engage with those around us—whether they’re users, colleagues, or stakeholders. It means getting people on board with an idea, earning trust, and working toward mutual goals. We all know how challenging that can be.
Why should I attend?
Don’t miss this day of workshops if you want to:
- LEARN how to write engaging web content, test your own website using basic evaluation methods, design an accessible website, to effectively manage a product from design to development, and create a kick ass user experience portfolio.
- CONNECT with designers, developers, researchers and project managers to share stories, network about new job opportunities, or find talent for your organization.
- GET MOTIVATED to use what you learn on your very next project!
