About Scott's Talk
Design approaches for health care, collaboration and engagement
Scott will speak about the need to complement rigorous usability efforts with exploratory design of systems that support, nudge and delight users to deliver more effective health care.
Scott is VP of Experience Design at Quanttus, a new venture company building behavior-changing experiences around advanced sensors and analytics. Scott joined Quanttus from his role as a Health Practice Lead in IDEO’s Boston officehelping shape and lead a diverse range of work in the healthcare sector, and developing IDEO’s thinking in this domain.
He worked first on the detailed design of medical systems and later transitioned to innovation strategy and business transformation assignments, and in recent years has focused on the design of complex digital products for health care organizations. During his time at IDEO he worked on tools for medical education, knowledge sharing, personal health monitoring and health care delivery including the ground-up redesign of a new Electronic Health Record experience for clinical care teams.
He holds an M.Phil. in Technology Policy from the Judge Business School of Cambridge University and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Canterbury. He is also a founder director of a venture company based in the UK.
