Michael Kormushoff  (Host)

Michael Kormushoff is the Director at The Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing at The University of Akron. Mr. Kormushoff is a graduate of The University of Akron and has been an instructor of Integrated Marketing Communications in the University’s Marketing Department since 2001.

Mr. Kormushoff is also the Owner of ST&P Communications Inc. and has been in a leadership position there since 1992. Previous to that he was Sr. Vice President at Hesselbart & Mitten Advertising, Inc., Fairlawn, Ohio. He is an active member of the Akron community and has been a board member and volunteer with many local non-profits and religious organizations.

Steve Caler

Steve Caler founded Caler & Company in Akron, Ohio in 1984. He is the CEO, Strategic Planning and had previously served as Senior Art Director for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Grey Advertising, Graber & Cohen Advertising, Arocom Marketing Group and Hesselbart & Mitten Advertising.

Mr. Caler has provided several keynote speaker and continuing education presentations on strategic planning, marketing communications, brand development, business plan development and how image and awareness shape the brand. He also participates in trade expositions and international conferences in many industries. Mr. Caler is an active member of the Akron community serving on a number of Boards and sharing his skills with both non-profits and industry-related boards and councils.

Vicki L. Chisholm

Vicki L. Chisholm is the Marketing Research Manager of the Suarez Applied Marketing Research Labs & The Taylor Institute at The University of Akron. Previously, she was the Director of Marketing Research at King's Medical Group and the Marketing Research & Database Manager at the Akron Beacon Journal. Ms. Chisholm earned her MBA in Business from Kent State University and her BS , Computer Science/Mathematics Option at The University of Akron. 

John Blakeney

John Blakeney is the President of Idea Firm LLC. and speaks regularly on innovation, global business strategy, marketing, leadership and how to stay grounded in an ever shifting world. He has worked in over thirty different industries including Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Automotive, Transportation, TV/ Radio Production, Advertising, Internet, Real-estate, Telecommunications, and Professional Athletics.

Mr. Blakeney holds a bachelors degree in business management and international business from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California. He is married and has three children. 

Colleen (Masterson) Bruemmer, MBA

Colleen (Masterson) Bruemmer, MBA is the President of Target Marketing Success, LLC in Brunswick, Ohio. She has more than 18 years of direct/database marketing experience, an MBA in Direct Marketing (from UMKC) and a Certification as a Social Media Strategist.

Ms. Bruemmer offers training, one-on-one coaching and consulting services for companies and individuals in using direct/database marketing and social media for effective marketing.  She is a frequent speaker about “Leveraging Social Media” for such purposes as business development, career management and the job search.  Ms. Bruemmer is also an Independent Authorized Agent for the Utility Refund Corporation (URC) in Powell, OH.  As a URC Agent, she assists eligible non-residential clients to obtain potential refunds/ credits on past utility bills (up to four years) and to reduce their future utility costs by 3 to 8%.
