Springboro Pike, Miamisburg Ohio

This year’s WUD theme is “Communication.”
We have a great program, with plenty of communication-related content. Of course, we are not limiting our event to the WUD theme. In fact, we define “usability” very broadly, including topics on general systems design, Human Factors, Military Systems, Cognitive Systems Engineering, Perception & Action, Decision Making, and Physical Ergonomics, among others.
The tri-state area is lucky to have many different practitioners from industry, academia, and government attend, present, and participate in this event. This is our time to appreciate all the good work in usability, user experience, and user centered design in our local community.
Our program includes:
9:00 AM Darren Kall, Kall Consulting (Flowcharting: the UX socket wrench)
10:00 AM Chris Cravens, Bridge Worldwide (Emotion Design Meets User Experience)
10:30 AM Spencer Murrell, Lextant (Insight Translation)
11:15 AM Lyman Casey, Centralis (Mobile interaction)
12:00 Noon IBM WUD Webcast
1:00 PM Jeff Opperman & Angela Ionna (LexisNexis) Corporate Communications
1:30 PM Two short talks on the sensor web from http://knoesis.org
2:00 PM Rich Miller, LexisNexis (Is the web dead? -or- What does the fragmentation of the internet mean for design and usability?) Panel
