IBM World Usability Day Webcast: "Social Media in the Workplace"

Note: this event is an online only event.

Social media has seen explosive growth over the past few years - Facebook has over 500 million users worldwide and Twitter is on target for 200 million users by year-end, But how does social media fit into the workplace? Could it totally replace email as the primary means of communication and collaboration? In celebration of World Usability Day (November 11th, 2010) and this year's theme of "Communications", IBM will host a webcast on the topic of "Social Media in the Workplace". Our featured speaker is IBMer Luis Suarez, who will describe his 2+ year experiment in ditching corporate email in favor of social software for communication and collaboration. We will demonstrate IBM Lotus Connections software for enterprise collaboration, and we will describe how the IBM User Experience Design community uses social media to collaborate with customers and other IBMers.

Please join us for our World Usability Day webcast, November 11th, 2010 from noon - 1:30 p.m. ET. Full details of the webcast, including URLs and teleconference numbers, are available on the Design@IBM Facebook page at
